#hardcover2026 - Folklore

#hardcover2026 - FOLKLORE

Project submission page

In the spirit of protesting against censorship on social media, we will again gather over 100 artists and collect a plethora of erotic art. With #hardcover2026, it will be the same as with #hardcover2024 and #hardcover2025, and we will include artistic nudity alongside explicit depictions. The main thing here is that you have fun, feel safe and comfortable exploring, and that we end up with a great book because of that :)

The topic: FOLKLORE

This year's topic is folklore. Your work must reflect that topic in some way.
Definition: the traditional beliefs, customs, and stories of a community, passed through the generations.

That can mean urban myths as much as ancient stories, fairy tales, and songs. Gladly, the many cultures in human history offer a plethora of topics to cover, and I am sure it will be easy for you to find something to depict.

For any questions, please feel free to reach out through Discord, and we will be happy to help. We will also conduct early reviews of your work-in-progress (WIP) if you feel unsure about its direction.

What we’ll need from you

  1. One or two artworks (do not send multiple images to choose from); each artist can have two pages to fill (optional)
  2. If you have two separate submissions, please upload them separately
  3. JPG format, 300dpi,
    Vertical A4: (297 x 210 mm | 11.7 x 8.3 inches) + 3 mm all-around bleed, RGB (full bleed, don't add borders please)
    Horizontal: ⚠️ THIS IS NOT A3! (260 x 395 mm | 10.2 x 15.5 inches) + 3 mm all-around bleed, RGB.
Remember that the double spread has a fold right in the middle. Consider this in your composition.
And VERY important: ⚠️ Do not add a white border. The images are printed with a white border anyway. The submitted image needs to have the FULL format, not added borders, to compensate for that. Thanks!
  4. We accept digital and traditional 2D and 3D art (traditional art can be sold in the campaign)
  5. Fill in the details of the submission form
  6. If you have them, you are welcome to include sketches and WIP images through the uploader.
  7. NEW! Upload extra files for the Gold Edition. This can be erotic art previously seen and published that doesn't have to be related to the topic of the book. They will be part of the larger Gold Edition if you are selected as one of the featured artists for the book. ⚠️ Please ensure that it is not fan art and that you have the necessary rights to publish it.

Deadline

Please submit your work by May 6, 2026, in your local time zone.
Please manage your time accordingly if you plan to be in this book.
Please use the form below.

⚠️ Do not!

  1. Please do not send us artwork depicting non-consent, underage characters, or gore, even if it is suggestive.
  2. Please do not send us fan art. Don't refer to IPs and characters you don't own.
  3. Don’t join this book if your personal views as a person and artist marginalize other fellow humans. We have no space for homophobes, sexists, racists, xenophobes, or any prejudiced individuals and their bigoted ideas. The book's content will be diverse, and this is the only way it should be.
  4. Please don’t send us artwork that has been published anywhere else. It can be old work, but it still has to be unseen material. If the contrary is discovered along the way, it will be removed from the publication.
  5. If you want to post about your contribution on social media, do not share it unless it is cropped to only show 25% of it as a preview. We believe that before publication, the content should be exclusive, and the book's creators will curate any information shared publicly for promotional purposes.
  6. Promotion is mandatory. The book's quality depends on its visibility!
  7. Complete or partial, we don't care: Absolutely no AI imagery is allowed in the book!

Judges and confirmed artists

As always, we will have a fantastic lineup of amazing artists and judges, who will be announced during the campaign.

Chosen entries

The selected artworks will be published alongside the curated content of the book. ⚠️ Every artist selected for publication will receive copies of the book (one Standard and one Premium edition) and the Swag Pack. You will also get a discount on additional copies of the retail version of the book. Additionally, we will pay out 90% of the campaign's profit to the published artists, with the option to get the amount's worth in the form of art books from the Caurette store.

Regarding your artwork, we do not request ownership of it, but rather exclusive publishing rights for one year after the book is published and available in retail.

Other info

The book and its content will be discussed on Discord, which is the only place where feedback on the artworks will be publicly shared. Sneak peeks at the creation of #hardcover2026 will be visible on the #hardcover channel on Discord. The book will be co-published with Éditions Caurette, who will also sell the retail version of the book after the campaign and handle the fulfillment of the books.
